Obsidian

Obsidian
It is a volcanic rock formed by rapid cooling of the lava. It is of vitreous structure and is constituted mainly by silica; it is used for the manufacture of decorative objects.
Obsidian is not a mineral proper, because it has no crystalline structure. It really is a natural glass, a volcanic glass.
Obsidian occurs in the last phase of the volcanic eruption.
We can find varieties in the color of obsidian or effects on its surface. As a general rule it is black (or grayish) but we also find it with the golden surface, with iridescence of the rainbow, with white flecks or rounded pearls called Apache tears.
For its beauty, the figures, ornaments and jewelry made with this material are highly valued.
"The Indians of Mexico, Central and South America used obsidian to make spears, arrows and other objects of daily or artistic use"
