Figure of Jaguar Knight elaborated from codices. The Aztec jaguar warrior, called ocēlōpilli in the náhualt language, was the member of the Aztec army who served there as a professional soldier within his special forces. One of its peculiarities is that all the jaguar warriors belonged to the lower class, the mācēhualtin, unlike what happened with their companions, the eagle warriors, who belonged to the nobility. During military campaigns, jaguar warriors were sent to the battle front. To achieve this status, the Aztec warriors must be able to capture twelve enemies alive in two campaigns, that is, they must capture six in one and six in the other. The jaguar warriors wore the attire that represented this animal because they believed that, in this way, they could obtain their same strength in the battle and behave like him.
